Swim for Life becomes Sustaining Partner of the NDPA
November, 2008

The Swim for Life Foundation board of directors has committed to becoming the first NDPA Sustaining Partner, pledging a $25,000 annual contribution for two years.
At their October 2008 board meeting, Swim for Life directors made the decision to support the NDPA’s plan to significantly improve NDPA member benefits and to redesign the NDPA website to increase resources members can use in their drowning prevention campaigns, and to add important information for the community. The donation will also help the NDPA to conduct a nationwide membership campaign, and ultimately, to reach the goal of having 2,000 members by July 1, 2010, ensuring the non-profit’s long-term financial stability.

The mission of the Swim for Life Foundation is “to enrich the lives of all people by promoting the life-long benefits of swimming, implanting proactive drowning prevention programs and increasing the accessibility of programs for those with special needs, whether the challenge is disability, age or finance related.” Water Safety is the main priority of the Swim for Life Foundation, and from that focus came the development of the nationally recognized Safer 3 Program.

The Safer 3 Program provides a multi-layered approach to drowning prevention. Safer Water…Safer Kids…and Safer Response. You can learn more about the Safer 3 Program and order program materials by visiting the Swim fo Life Foundation’s website, www.swimforlife.com.
